HELP is an international non-profit organization. We believe that human beings and the environment are tightly interdependent. Our goal is to improve the living conditions and education in ecologically fragile areas and enhance the environmental awareness of the public.

HELP WOLONG

The major area we are working on thus far is the world-famous Wolong Nature Reserve for Giant Pandas located in Sichuan, China. HELP has established a close connection with the local government, villages, panda research and breeding center, and local schools. Knowing the exact needs of the Wolong residents, HELP aims to help improve the conditions of both the local community and the natural environment they live in.

Vote for HELP in Chase Community Giving on Facebook by July 12th

Human and Environment Linkage Programme (HELP) is Michigan and California-based non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status approved by US IRS. HELP works on poverty alleviation and community-based conservation in Tibetan, Qiang and Yi minority areas in Western China Mountains. HELP is a volunteer-based NGO and 100% of the donations to HELP are used for carrying out on-site projects. We write this email to you to ask for your kind help to vote for HELP in the Chase Community Giving event on Facebook.com .

In this round of “Chase Community Giving” on Facebook to be ended on July 13th 2010, the top 200 ranked charities will receive financial support of US$ 20,000 or more from Chase Bank. With a few clicks, you can make significant contribution to small NGOs like HELP, and thousands of minority people living in ecologically fragile region, such as Wolong Nature Reserve for Giant Pandas in Sichuan, can benefit from your prompt action.

What you need do is simple –

1.       Visit Facebook and register and account (if you haven’t had one) and vote for Human and Environment Linkage Programme and also many other NGOs/Charities;
2.       Send invitation to your Facebook friends and ask them to participate this important event and support HELP too;
3.       Forward this email to your friends to get more people involved.

You may follow these steps to vote for HELP on Facebook:

1. Visit the following link –
http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/tos

2. Log in using your Facebook account (or register one if you haven’t had one yet)

3. After logging in, you will be asked whether you allow Chase to know you public information (such as your name), you need click on “Allow”

4. Go to HELP’s page on – you can use the following link directly or search for “Human and Environment Linkage Programme”

5. After you enter HELP’s page, you need click on the “Like” button on the top left corner and confirm it.

6. VOTE – click on the “Vote” bar on the top right portion of the page. Now you have made one vote for HELP.

If you do have extra time, you may go through the following steps to get your gift vote and exchange with others to cast a second vote for HELP.

7. After your first vote, click on the "Share With Friends” button and four choices appears. Please choose at least the first one to post it on your own Facebook Wall. You may also post it on your LinkedIn and Twitter accounts. It is highly recommended that you can also choose to recommend HELP to your friends.

8. Back to Step 4, you may start to vote for any other NGOs/Charities. Each Facebook account can have a maximum of 20 votes, but can submit no more than one vote for each organization. There is a button with a number on the top right corner. That shows the number of votes left in your account.

9. After you submitted your 5th and 20th votes, you will receive one gift vote (two in total). Gift vote can only be given as a present to others. It is highly recommended that you can ask your gift vote receiver to use it for HELP.

10. You may receive gift vote from others too and you can use that on your favorite organization. You can submit one gift vote for each organization, but no more than one. This means that everyone can make on basic vote and one gift vote for one organization, totally two.

Here we call for the full support from you and your friends to give us a hand to help HELP to excel in the Chase Community Giving event. HELP is right now ranked at 465 with 171 votes. With only 9 days left, we need hundreds of votes to be ranked in the top 200 to win the 20K US$ donation from Chase by the end. This fund will be used completely in HELP’s earthquake relief programs in Wolong Nature Reserve for Giant Pandas in Sichuan and Yushu Tibetan Prefecture in Qinghai and HELP’s education program to help Yi minority students in the Liangshan Yi Prefecture in Sichuan.
