| The major area we are working on thus far is the world-famous Wolong Nature Reserve for Giant Pandas located in Sichuan, China. HELP has established a close connection with the local government, villages, panda research and breeding center, and local schools. Knowing the exact needs of the Wolong residents, HELP aims to help improve the conditions of both the local community and the natural environment they live in. |

| HELP brings Chidren's day gifts to kids in Wolong |
June 1st, 2009, to celebrate the international Children's Day HELP brings 23 sets of gifts to the kids in the only temperory village school in Wolong tonwship of Wolong Nature Reserve.
The majority of the school-age chidren in Wolong are currently studying in two tonwship-level primary schools and one middle school outside of the reserve, and no pre-school education was available to remaining kids at ages between 5 and 7. Recently, the villagers in Wolongguan village established a self-organized village school to host all pre-school age kids in the village. Ms. Huang from the village, who just graduated from college majoring in education and returned to Wolong, is the only teacher currently in the temporary school. HELP's volunteer in Wolong township contacted Ms. Huang in May and based on her request, HELP brings 23 sets of backpacks, stationeries and sporting shoes to all the kids in the school to celebrate their first Children's Day. We hope they have a great time in the Children's Day and wish that their new shcool could be recontructed soon in the near future! |
